Aright, it’s time to go over the Survival mode in Cosmic Paradox: Noire. If you read the fifth info drop, you will already know about the ranking system and how it ties in with level progression. If not, the only thing that you need to know for now is that you will first have to earn at least two stars on a Campaign level in order to unlock its Survival variant.
Once unlocked, prepare for a challenge.
The first thing that you will notice is how these stages are mirrored compared to their Campaign counterparts. This applies to both the level layout and attack patterns of enemy ships. This should keep you on your toes and ensure that you cannot immediately rely on your previous knowledge from completing the Campaign stage equivalent. The mirroring also happened to perfectly fit the theme of CP Noire, so it was an obvious choice for this mode.
Although it is called Survival mode and it features a high score system unlike the Campaign which is based on ranks, it can actually be completed. Doing so will not be easy, but with enough skill, knowledge, muscle memory and a fairly upgraded ship, it can be done.
Power-ups and health rewards will be present in Survival mode as well to provide some additional assistance, but you will primarily have to rely on your gained experience if you wish to reach the end. To those of you who make it, we congratulate you in advance. You will have truly mastered the game by that point.
Since we mentioned Supreme enemies, it only makes sense to let you know exactly what you will be up against. You will be able to easily distinguish Supreme enemies from regular ones due to their color matching auras, which are attached to the back of the ship. Otherwise, they look and behave in the same way, except for one key difference.
They deal double damage.
This means that there is a very good chance that a few shots will cause serious damage and there is also a possibility of being one shotted by the toughest bosses, even if you were at full health that is maxed out.
You will have to constantly be on your toes if you want to stand a chance against these enemies in combat. Mistakes will not be easily forgiven.
Such high risk must also yield greater rewards, and indeed it will. Supreme enemies will always reward the player with Credits as their Wave rewards. Not only that, but the Credits amount will also be doubled. This means that capable pilots will be able to earn very high amounts of Credits in a relatively short period of time, ensuring that they can purchase desired upgrades and ships earlier than anticipated.
We only have one more info drop for you before the game launches. Those of you who read all of them up until this point are already well prepared for the game, but we still have to go over every enemy type in the game and what their colors represent. The release draws near and we can’t wait for you to play the game once it’s finally out.
See you at the finale. Take care.
