The day is finally here. Cosmic Paradox: Noire is now available on PS5 and PS4.

During development, we knew that we absolutely must take advantage of the incredible features offered by the DualSense wireless controller.

We did this through the Adaptive Triggers. Specifically, how their behaviour changes depending on the current fire mode.

Regular mode

As this fire mode will be used most of the time, we knew that we had to get it just right. We tuned the trigger effect so that it matches the fire rate of the laser and we also made sure that the pushback mimics the intensity of regular fire. It becomes stronger the further you press, but it is never overwhelming. From our testing, pressing the trigger about halfway through creates the optimal experience, but this will likely vary for everyone.

Rampage mode

Since Rampage is very limited can only be used up to three times during a stage, we dialed everything up to 11. The pushback and intensity match the doubled fire rate of the ship’s laser to create an extremely powerful feeling. This ensures that the effect fits perfectly with the ability itself. Press the trigger all the way for maximum intensity.
